Here's the beautiful inspiration [can't, for the life of me, find the source]:
So cute and practical!
I took one of the old shutters, painted it green first, and then painted white over the green. After the paint dried, I sanded the edges. I wanted the green to show through the white since the walls in my kitchen are green, and that's where I planned to hang it. After that, I glued a paper bag to the back of the shutter so that the mail wouldn't fall through the back. This is a very important step!
Here's what I ended up with:
I also picked up some leaves from our yard, dried them out and then used Mod Podge to glue them on to the shutter.
Now there's a much cuter alternative to cluttering up my fridge with magnets! And this project was totally FREE because I already had everything! Got to love that.
I hope you all are recovering from your Christmas celebrations!
P.S. Linking up to these parties!
I love the shutter!
